The Newman Visitor Centre is a unique, world class visitor centre, creating a showcase environment featuring Newman and the surrounding Pilbara region.

 
 

 

The centre reflects a distinctly West Australian flavour, showcasing local and nationally made products such as books, stunning objects made from ceramics, glass or wood, our beautiful contemporary range of jewellery and of course the huge range of model CAT trucks.

GETTING TO NEWMAN

Newman is the eastern gateway to Karijini and the Heartland of the Pilbara. Newman is very accessible:

  • Drive- Exit the Great Northern Highway, take one of the two exits for Newman.
  • Bus- Integrity service Newman twice weekly. (Contact the Visitor centre staff for details).
  • Fly- Qantas services Newman daily & Skywest twice weekly. (Contact the Visitor Centre staff for details).

Newman Visitor Centre also offers traditional tourist services:

  • Assistance with accommodation and services, and local travel plans
  • Assistance with transportation (bus and car hire)

The centre is also a hub of activity, local history and cultural happenings:

  • The Mining Museum tells the 'Stan Hilditch Story', complete with the original truck that Stan drove through the rugged bush country
  • The outdoor Pastoral Museum looks at another side of Newman, namely outback station life
